Mary probably married at age 14. Her first child, Henry Symes was born in 1708, and her second son, John Symes or Sims was born in 1710 in Hanover County, Virginia, when she was 16.
"mary Dautr of Tho Rice baptiz the 15 July 1694." St. Peter's Parish, New Kent County.[1]
Mary married John Symms as stated by her nephew Rev David Rice son of her brother David. Rev David states it on page 32 of his Memoirs[2]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mary by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mary:
I match with a few of these people listed. I'm a descendant of a Claiborne or Clayborne Sims. I have also found some Rice dna connections in the past FWIW.
I haven't been able to find anything to support that either Symes-295 or Symes-194 married Mary Rice. A line on her profile says: "Mary have married John Semmes [Sims?].[2]"

p 164 says: "Mary Semmes=John Semmes" - no other information, no sources (that I found) & no mention of his family.
There appear to be two different transcriptions of the vestry book.
A version was published by the Colonial Dames in 1904. This version is in the Internet Archive. It does indeed have have Mary as the daughter of Thomas Reid.

Also, her profile cites a baptism record that is not collaborated by the online copy: https://archive.org/stream/parishregisterof00stpe#page/32/mode/2up/search/1694 shows the Mary baptized 15 July 1694 to be the daughter of Thomas Reid, not Rice.

And then there is the version by Chamberlayne in 1937. This version is only available online at Ancestry. It lists her as the daughter of Thomas Rice. St. Peter's Parish (New Kent County, Va.), and C. G. Chamberlayne. 1937. The vestry book and register of St. Peter's Parish, New Kent and James City Counties, Virginia, 1684-1786. I have found no sources for a marriage of Mary Rice.
