Edward was born in 1843 to Edwin Potter Rice and Elizabeth Reasner. He moved with her parents first to Hopewell, Ontario, New York.[1] and then to Michigan.[2] From there, Edward moved to Litchfield, Michigan[3] where he lived until his death in 1914.[4][5] He is buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Litchfield, Hillsdale County, Michigan.[6]
