Francis Marcy Rice was born in 1711 in St. Peter's Parish, New Kent, Virginia, son of Francis Rice (1679 - 1770) and Amelia (Cobbs) Rice (~1683 - ).

Francis married Sarah Womack (~1717 - ~1759) in 1733 in Henrico, Virginia. Their children were:

  1. Francis Rice Jr (1736 - 1807)
  2. Thomas Rice (1740 - 1816)
  3. Mary Elizabeth (Rice) Puckett (1742 - 1803)
  4. Isham Rice (1745 - 1804)
  5. Abraham Rice (1745 - 1830).

Francis died about 15 Nov 1798 in Prince Edward, Virginia, United States aged ~87.
