Biography

Samuel was the son of George Hartman Rice and Anna Catherine Geirich. He married Sarah E. Kepner.[1] Their children were:

1. Matilda "Tillie" Rice Ritner 1833 -1863
2. Martha J Rice Sweezy Ritner 1836–1929
3. Sarah E. Rice Kepner 1838–1917
4. John H. Rice 1840–1867
5. Mary Melinda Rice Wagenseller Stratton 1843–1919
6. Margaret Ellen Rice Sweezy 1845–1852
7, Frances Ann "Fannie" Rice Foreman 1849–1877

The family lived in Milford, Juniata, Pennsylvania. [2]

Samuel died in 1851 and is buried in Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal, Juniata, Pennsylvania. [3]
