Research Notes

Differences in the Marlborough Vital Records and the Marlborough History raise a question on the birth date of Cyprian. The Marlborough History lists Cyprian as the son of Peter and Rebecca Rice, born in 1693. It also lists Zipperah and Zepheniah as twins, born 17 Dec 1691. Marlborough Vital Records list Zipperan, son of Peter and Rebecca Rice, born 17 Dec 1691 and omit Cyprian and Zephaniah. Some collections have equated Cyprian and Zipperan for the similar sounding names, but they are treated as two different sons here.

Rice-3279 and Rice-71 appear to represent the same person because: Little detail on Rice-71, but same wife and Marlborough History source supports they are the same.

According to this secondary source, wife Lydia's maiden name was also "Rice". She was the daughter of Benjamin Rice and Mary Graves.

Rice-6660 and Rice-3279 appear to represent the same person because: They have identical birthdates. This will also add Cyprian's parents and siblings from the Rice-6660 profile to the Rice-3279 profile.

After that merge is complete, Rice-71 appears to be another profile representing the same Cyprian Rice so a second proposed merge will be needed.
