Marjy Irene (Rice) Weitting was born on December 20, 1925 in Battle Creek, MI to Clayton Rice and Dorothy Ashley. She married Dale Weitting in 1946.[1]
She was a member of the Calvary Bible Church in Kalamazoo.
Marjy was a tiny woman who dressed nicely. Her voice was soft, but she was effective. She was such a sweet and thoughtful lady. It was evident to those around Marjy and husband Dale, that they shared much love. They were strong and faithful in their religious beliefs and carried the message in their everyday lives.
I first met her at my fathers's funeral when I was 16. She and her sister are the ones who really drew out my interest in genealogy. Twenty to thirty years later, I began making a genealogy book of our family, she was thrilled and rallied her children for support. I might add that Marjy is her name. She once told me "It's not short for anything." She was not pleased when people tried to call her Marjorie!
Marjy died in 2014[2] and is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Battle Creek, Calhoun, Michigan.[3]
