Marie Rosalie Ricard was born 5 Jul 1761 and baptized the next day in Ste-Anne-de-la-Pérade, daughter of Thomas Ricard and Magdeleine Juinot (sic, IGD file transcribes as Guinot but in the source document the last name appears to begin with a "J"). Godparents were Michel Baribeault and Marie Françoise Oule, no signatures. [1]
On 3 Oct 1791, in St-Pierre de Sorel, Jean Baptiste Cardin widower of Jeanne Carie married Marie Rose Riquard daughter of the late Thomas Riquard and Magdeleine Junau. Witnesses are of no specified relationship to the couple, no signatures. [2]
Rose Lucas, widow of Jean Baptiste Cardin, died on 24 February 1849 and was buried on the 26th in Saint-Aimé (now Massueville), the record giving her 91 years of age.[3]
Notes
Massueville only named that in 1903, Saint-Aimé is correct name for this location in 1849.[4]
Caution Similarly named couple
It is unlikely that these two couple's children would be incorrectly assigned but some online trees have this mistake.
On 23 Nov 1778, in St-Charles-sur-Richelieu, Jean Baptiste Loiselle son of Jean Baptiste Loiselle and Dorothée Brouillet married Marguerite Richard daughter of Joseph Richard and Marie Anne Basque. [5] Their children were all baptized and married in the Richelieu area and it appears Marguerite appears to have never been referred to as "Marie" alone.
On 3 Oct 1791, in St-Pierre de Sorel, Jean Baptiste Cardin (aka Loiseau) son of Pierre Cardin (aka Loiseau) and Madeleine Brunaud married Marie Rose Ricard daughter Thomas Ricard and Magdeleine Junau. [2] Their children were all baptized and married in the Sorel area except for one in Yamaska (07 Nov 1814). Marie Rose at least once was referred to as "Marie" alone (3 Oct 1808).
