Biography

Moses was born on 28 July 1718 in Newbury, Essex, Massachusetts. He was the son of Joseph Richardson Jr. (1686-1767) and Ann (Riggs) Richardson (1693-1749).[1][2]

Moses married Mary Goodhue on 6 May 1746.[3]

In the 1790 census Moses was in Chester, Rockingham, New Hampshire, United States.[4]

Moses wrote his will on 7 May 1799. Moses's estate passed probate on 17 April 1806.[5]


WILL OF MOSES RICHARDSON

In the name of God Amen I Moses Richardson of Chester in the County of Rockingham & State of New Hampshire husbandsman, being in a poor state of health but of a sound disposing mind & memory, but considering that it is appointed for all men once to die & that I know not how soon it may be my lot do make this my last will and testament & after recommitting my soul to God the father of the spirit of all men humbly hoping to find favor & acceptance with hm thru the merits & mediations of Jesus Christ our Lord & my body to a decent burial according to the disposition of my executor hereinafter named I give devise & bequeath my wordly goods & estate in manner & form following (viz)
Imprimis My will is that all my just debts & funeral charges by paid by my executor hereinafter named within a convenient time after my decease –
Item I give & bequeath unto my beloved wife Mary Richardson all my estate consisting of farming utentials household furniture and stock of creatures of all kind, for her to use (and dispose of as she needs for the support and maintenance), except what is hereafter given to my children–
Item I give and bequeath to my three sons (viz) David Richardson, Jonathan Richardson and Edward Richardson all my wearing apparel to be divided equally amongst them which I allow to be a sufficient portion out of my estate with what I have heretofore given them – Said wearing apparel to be delivered to them by my executor immediately after my decease–
Item I give and bequeath to my four daughters (viz) Elizabeth Crage, Sarah Clay, Nellie Towle and Lucretia Fife all the estate that I have heretofore given to my wife Mary Richardson that she shall not have disposed of at her decease for her support and maintenance to be divided equally amongst them, together with which I have allready given them at his decease I allow to be full a portion out of my estate.–
I do also constitute and appoint my said beloved wife Mary Richardson to be my sole executor to this my last will and testament. Lastly I do hereby revoke all other wills and testaments by me heretofore made–
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this seventh day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine–
