Albert's obituary states he was a Chief Petty Officer in World War II, and he spent most of his life as a seaman. He was cremated and his ashes scattered at sea at Pleasant Point, Shelburne County, There is a memorial stone to him at Osborne Cemetery, Osborne Harbour, Row 12-5. Albert and his brother, Cecil, were born exactly one year apart.

Obituary of Albert A. Richardson "RICHARDSON, Albert Austin - 79, Colonial Nursing Home, Halifax, died February 25, 1994 in the home. Born in Pleasant Point, he was the son of the late Gordon and Nellie (Decker) Richardson. He was a chief petty officer in the Canadian Navy during the Second World War, and spent most of his life as a seaman. He is survived by two daughters, Daphne, Shirley, both of Montreal; two sons, Leslie, Montreal; Allen, Vancouver, several grandchildren; five sisters, Brenda, East Sable River; Evelyn, Dartmouth; Elizabeth, Prince Rupert, B.C.; Kathleen, Pleasant Point; Florence, Bridgewater; two brothers, Cecil, Allendale; Carl, De Bay Cove. He was predeceased by a sister, Roberta; brother, Arthur. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at sea at a later date. Donations may be made to Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia." During the war years he served on the corvettes, H.M.C.S. ROSTHERN (K-169) and the "H.M.C.S. DUNVEGAN" (K-177). He was cremated and his ashes were scattered at sea on July 23, 1994 at Pleasant Point. His son, Leslie is actively pursuing and documenting the Richardson family genealogy.
