Joseph Richardson was born on 3 July 1763 in Newton, Massachusetts. His father was David Richardson[1], but records differ as to the name of his mother.
He married Mary Carpenter in 1782 in Standish, Maine. They had nine children[2]:
1. Samuel, born 26 May 1782
2. Abigail, born 10 Jan 1784; married Benjamin McCorrison
3. Joseph, born 3 Jul 1785; married Charlotte Thompson
4. Sarah, born 22 Jun 1787; married Eleazar Marr
5. Samuel, born 1 May 1789; married 1st Sarah Mansfield, 2nd Hannah Towle
6. Huldah, born 10 Jul 1791; married Barnabas Sawyer
7. Ephraim, born 11 Jun 1793
8. Mary, born 22 May 1795; married Dudley Moody
9. Hannah, born 22 Dec 1798; died young
Joseph relocated his family to Baldwin, Maine, around 1785.[2] He passed away there on 21 February 1836[3].
