According to Historical Sketches of the Campbell, Pilcher, and Kindred Families :--
"THOMAS GRANT was a Scotch merchant. ISABEL RICHARDSON was of an English family. They both lived to a good old age. Although they had several other sons, DANIEL was the only one who lived to marry and raise a family."
