Biography

Ann was born in about 1758. She was the daughter of James Richardson.

Spinster Ann married bachelor Kristian "Christopher, Christian" Sundius on 27 July 1782 in St George in the East, Stepney, London, England, by Licence. The Rector was Herbert Mayo, and the witnesses were Barbara Bruce and Aron Matthews. Ann and Christian both signed their names.

The following is taken from the British Online Archives and has been computer generated:

""On July 27th 1782 Mr Sundius married a young lady of the name of Miss Ann Richardson. At the time of first acquaintance with her was about going to India with the lady of General Matthews with daughters had educated was intended she join aunts who well her uncle resided in India. Miss Richardson loved God and resolved to cast in lot for life with Mr Sundius have the following tribute to excellence in own words was a child of God and had profited greatly by hearing Mr Wesley and his blessed assistants preach at the Old Foundary and notwithstanding ill-health continued a single-hearted believer in Jesus to the end of days. The lady appears to made one voyage with beloved husband was to the West Indies. At the Island of Grenada were treated with marked distinction and had the honour of being invited to reside at the Government-house. Mrs Sundius the mother of nine children and died in peace in May 96 after a painful illness. On July 4th 1798 Mr Sundius entered the marriage-state with Miss Jane Vizeille Smith daughter of William Smith Esq. of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, a union also blessed with nine children.""

Ann passed away in 1796, the year after their youngest child was born. She was just 38 years of age and was buried on 26 May 1796 in family plot next to John Wesley, at City Road, City Road Chapel (Wesleyan)[1].

She was of Winkworth Buildings, City Road.
