James Richardson, son of Thomas Richardson and Elizabeth Green; born in 1723 Leicester, Worcester, Mass., he married Levinah Johnson, June 19 1764, she was born Dec 11 1743; daughter of Daniel Johnson of Shrewsbury.[1]
At the first organization of the town of Spencer, May 14 1753, James was chosen Surveyor of Highways. He removed from Spencer to Leicester in 1768.[2]
He was a private stationed at Fort Massachusetts, in the present town of Adams in 1747-8. He was one of the "eight-months men", called out after the affair at Lexington, serving from the first of May to the end of the year 1775. He was also in Col Wade's regiment of State troops, stationed on Rhode Island, one year from January 1778.[2]
