She married William M. Stevens on December 19, 1830.[4] The Barbour Collection lists him as William M. Smith but her death certificate shows William M. Stevens.
She died on October 14, 1901 in North Canann, Connecticut.[5][6][7] In a letter to John Knecht, Mrs. Roger Pratt writes, "In a diary which was written by my great aunt Mary Emmons I found the following notes: 'October 1901: Mrs. Polly Stevens died at her home at Mrs. Olive Stevens in the valley, aged over 90 years. She had been confined to her bed for some time.' " She is buried in the Canaan Valley Cemetery.[8][9]
