Research Notes

This profile's father has sometimes been confused as "Samuel Alexander Richey" who were actually 2 brothers ...

- Samuel Richey, b: 1668 Ireland; d: 1739 Lancaster area, PA; m: Lydia Moore
- Alexander Richey, b: 1698 Ireland; d: 1749 Amelia Co, VA; m: Jeanne Caldwell.

Both of the above brothers immigrated came to the American Colonies in December 1727 with John Caldwell. They both had sons named John. Their descendants eventually made their way to Abbeville, South Carolina, but there is no indication of either John being born in SC. The Find-a-Grave Memorial makes unsourced assumptions in that regard. Per Rich-1922 on 01 Apr 2017.

A possible brother of this profile may be Alexander Richey=Ritchie, b: 20 Aug 1739 in Kilwinnings, Ayrshire, Scotland.

Richey-2253 and Richey-64 appear to represent the same person because: The information on Richey-2253 is not from a reliable source.

You seem to have taken information directly from Find a Grave which have no burial information, which means they are definitely not reliable. The pages also have conflicting information. It is very doubtful that a family would have 2 sons with same name of John, unless one had died earlier..
