Rebecca was born to John Richmond and Elizabeth Irish in Kingston, Rhode Island.
Note: Her parentage is different from Lorissa Steele's conclusion in 1912 that Rebecca was the daughter of Jonathan Thurston. The current consensus is that these are two different Rebeccas [1]. (See Notes at the end of this profile)
Note: There do not appear to be any primary records for her mother Elizabeth’s surname. In the secondary literature, Elizabeth’s surname is not given by Joshua Bailey Richmond (1897) while Nellie Ward Johnson (1937) identifies her as Elizabeth Davis. Some current researchers identify her as Elizabeth Irish but never offer any documentary evidence. Therefore, the connections to Elizabeth Davis and Elizabeth Irish have been broken until someone provides documentary proof.
In 1720, Rebecca married Peter Worden in Westerly Rhode Island. They had at least ten children.
In 1745, Peter passed away at age 48 in Westerly. On 26 April 1753, widow Rebecca asked the Westerly council to appoint a committee to lay out her dower in the farm at her charge. Five years later, they gave her 49 acres.

Rebecca Richmond's father would be John Richmond (1660-1740); mother Elizabeth Irish (1674-1740).
Perhaps Wordens Past might be able to shed some light on this.
