Biography

Silas Rickard was born on 26 April 1717 at Plympton, Plymouth, Massachusetts, a child of Joseph and Deborah Miller Rickard. He married Elizabeth Raymond on 11 March 1745. He and his wife had five children: Lucy, Hannah, Eunice, Silas, and Elizabeth. He rendered patriotic service during the Revolutionary War. He died on 6 Maarch 1802 at Pomfret, Windsor, Vermont. His will dated 5 March 1798, and probated 1 June 1802, mentions wife Elizabeth, son Silas, and daughters Elizabeth Ashley (wife of Joseph Jr.) and Eunice Holmes (wife of Jonathan). He is buried in the Old Abington Burying Grounds, Abington, Windham, Connecticut.
