Isabella / Isobel Riddell, daughter of Dr. John Riddell and Jean Livingstoun, was born May 29 1709 in Avondale, Lanark, Scotland [1] She married Samuel Chesney about 1728 in Monaghan, Ulster, Ireland estimated by the birth of their first child Robert McChesney (b. 15 May 1730).[2]
I quote from Adam E Maroney[3] "Walter McChesney was born in the year 1732 in County Monoghan, Ireland. He was the second of ten children born to Samuel Chesney/McChesney [sic} and Isobel Riddell. Walter's father, Samuel, was born sometime around the year 1710 or earlier. The place of his birth was probably in County Monoghan. His mother, Isobel Ridell, was born about May, 1711. According to my research, Isobel was christened in the town of Clones, in County Monoghan in May, 1711, so more than likely, she was just a small baby when this event occurred. She is listed as being the daughter of John Riddell. I have discovered a brother of Isobel's, John Riddell, Jr., who was Christened in Clones, Ireland on January 6, 1713.
I have discovered a brother of Samuel, and his name was William McChesney, William and four of Samuel and Isobel's children left County Monoghan, Ireland in the year 1764, and they arrived in Neward, New Jersey [colony]."
