Hello Michelle,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are usually shared by many descendants, collaborating with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or topic. Review the project pages to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.

Can't find what you're looking for? Let me know, and I can make some suggestions! :-)

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

Hi

Thank you for adding your DNA Test to your profile on WikiTree. Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. To get the best results, you need to start with yourself and add sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to existing profiles in WikiTree. 24 hours later, your test will have populated on the profiles of your ancestors and their descendants, where others with potential matches may also appear.

Let me know if you have any questions, and have fun!

Mindy ~ WikiTree Greeter

PS There is a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that others found very helpful. I hope that you will too.

Hi Michelle,

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. We are building one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to check for duplicates as you add any Profiles to WikiTree - the software automatically helps with this.

If you need any help, visit the G2G forum. You might want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you.

You will find many ways to contribute to WikiTree as you add your own branches. Thanks for offering to help with our shared tree :)

I am working On the Riddle/Martin and Wild/Davis family tree most are from North Carolina. I have been using Ancestry.com but don't like the cost, I tried my heritage but it is confusing, so going to try here.
