George received a military pension so it is likely that he participated in the war.
George Leslie Riddle died suddenly at Addington Hospital in Durban after being run down by a motor car on 14 Nov 1938. He was 52 years old. It was unknown whether it was by accident or homicide. The family intended to bury his remains at Red Hill cemetery in Durban.
