Edward Ridge married Bernice Weston in 1908. They divorced in 1916. [1]

In 1913 he was recorded in the NSW Police Gazettes after a warrant was issued for his arrest for desertion, the complainant being his wife Bernice. He was described as an acrobat aged 33, and had been travelling in the Lithgow area in a circus. [2]
