Biography
William Ridgway was born in 1861 in Victoria, Australia. His birth was registered in the Maldon district. His parents were Philip Ridgway and Mary Twitchen.[1]
William Ridgway married Sophia Harriett Baker on 6 January 1898 at the residence of W J Baker, Virginia, South Austalia. William was 36, son of Philip; Sophia was 29, daughter of William John Baker.[2]
They had four children in Quorn, South Australia:[3]
- Laurie Ernest Ridgway, 28 February 1899
- Lynda Sophia (Ridgway) Hay, 19 April 1903
- Elma Mary (Ridgway) Kennedy, 27 September 1906
- Phillip William Ridgway, 30 October 1908
William's father Philip Ridgway died aged 85 at Quorn, South Australia on 4 May 1912. William was recorded as the relative in the death registration index.[4]
William Ridgway died on 4 May 1945 aged 83 at Murray Bridge, South Australia.[5]
