Biography

Miles Riggs was born about 1536 in England. He died before 7 September 1583 which is the date of his burial.^[1] Prior to 1567, there were no Parish Registers for Roydon so there is no record of Miles's baptism or marriage, or of the baptisms of his children.^[1]

Miles was one of the witnesses to the Will of Elizabeth Borely on 15 Apr. 1564.^[2] He would have had to be "of age' in order to witness the will. Richard Rigg(e)s, his probable son, was born before 1557.^[1]

Miles' wife Agnes was buried at Roydon, Essex on 26 Mar. 1579, as "Angnes" the wife of Miles "Ridges".^[1]
