ADAH Civil War Service Database Records verify that Wesley enlisted in Company B, 33rd Alabama Infantry Regiment on 11 March 1862 at Clopton with the grade of 3rd Sgt. He was serving in the grade of 2nd Lieutenant when captured near Atlanta Georgia on July 22, 1864. He lost his right eye in this battle. He arrived at the Johnson Island prisoner of War Depot, Sandusky Bay, Lake Erie Ohio on August 1, 1864 and was released on June 15, 1865. After the War Wesley Farmed and served as a Methodist Church Minister until his death.
