1850 The 1850 Fredericksburg, Virginia, Census lists her in the household of John Gilham, grocer, with two female children: E, age 7; and M, age 2. [1]
1859 The death of John Gilham left her a widow with children in Fredericksburg, VA, a location subjected to extensive bombardment throughout the national catastrophe, the US Civil War.
1870 The Census lists her in a Fredericksburg household with her daughter, Emeline Gilham Stearns, and two grandsons: Edgar, age 3; and Frank, age 1.[2]
1892 On February 2, Mary died in Fredericksburg. [3]
