Biography
John was born on 13 Jul 1833 in Prestopans, East Lothian, Scotland. He was christened on 17 Jul 1833 in Peterculter, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.[1] His parents were James and Jane Ritchie.[1]
He married Elspet Alexander on 13 May 1853 in Old Machar, Aberdeen, Scotland.
He died on 31 Dec 1873 in Brooklyn, Kings, New York. He was buried in Saint Matthews Anglican Church Cemetery.[2]
