- Note: Was a school teacher and apparently widowed from her first husband by 1880.
- Mattie Roach Low died at the "Sardis home of her daughter", according to the obituary in the Southern Reporter. This would be at the home of Mattie Kibler, and at the time that the Dave Low children were living in the home. This was "Grandma Low", who was visited each evening by one of the children.
