Biography

William Robbins

Birth: Aug. 18, 1651 Reading, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
Death: Aug. 18, 1725, Walpole Heights, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, USA

William Robbins was a soldier in King Phillip's War. He lived in Reading until 1691. He gave money toward building a meeting-house in the South Parish (Wakefield) and the first church in Lynnfield. He also became a freeman that year. In 1691, he moved from Reading to a section of Dedham which would later become Walpole. This part of Dedham was know at that time as at "Ye Sawe Mille," in reference to the mill built by Joshua Fisher and Eleazer Lusher on the Neponset River.

He had several connections to this area. Prior to the coming of Robbins, the only permanent settlers in later Wapole were James Fales, Thomas Clap, and Joseph Kingsbury. Priscilla Robbins, William's wife, was a niece of Mrs. Fales. Peter Fales, Jame's son, married Abigail Robbins, William's sister. William's son, William married Hannah Clap, whose mother was a daughter of the "old saw-mill" owner, Fisher.
He was the first signer of a petition to set off the southern portion of Dedham as a seperate township. He died shortly after the new town was created. (from History of the Robbins Family of Walpole, Massachusetts : Descendants of William and Priscilla Robbins, 1949)

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:

Robbins-1960 and Robbins-129 appear to represent the same person because: Despite minor discrepancies, identical spouses and at least one identical child indicate these are intended to represent the same person. Please approve the merge,

Robbins-129 and Robbins-1960 do not represent the same person because: Rejecting to reverse order of merge

Robbins-129 and Robbins-1960 appear to represent the same person because: Same spouse and child

Difference in dates to be noted in the biography until a source can be added.

Robbins-129 and Robbins-1960 are not ready to be merged because: not all dates and names match. more sources are needed to confirm.

Robbins-129 and Robbins-1772 are not ready to be merged because: With dobs of -129 & -1772 so far apart and at least one source indicating that -1772's daughter Abigail may actually be a sister, I am hesitant to merge these. Also, there is a great separation in dobs between Abigail and the other children of -129 (I have a source, not included on wikitree, that the eldest child of -129 was born in 1680 (and the youngest child born in 1694)). I will try to do more work on this in the not too distant future.

The proposed merge Robbins-3754 into Robbins-129 has a conflict with the Father:

Robbins-3754 has William Robbins (Robbins-3755)

and Robbins-129 has William Robbins (Robbins-2145)

This conflicts need to be resolved before the merge can be completed, as once completed the merge can not be reversed.

Robbins-3754 and Robbins-129 appear to represent the same person because: Exact dates. Father to be merged as well
I don't think that Robbins-1772 and Robbins-129 are truly the same person, but they are both linked to profiles for Abigail (Robbins) Fales as her father. I marked them as an unmerged match in hopes that someone familiar with these families can get them sorted out.
