Biography

Rufus Robbins was born circa 1791, the son of James Robbins and Sherah Ring of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia^{[1] [2][3]}

Circa 1811, he married Letitia Wyman, the daughter of James Wyman and Drucilla Doane of Yarmouth, NS ^{[2] [3]}, and they had children, including:

1. Sophia, born 1812^[3], who married William Trefry, son of William^{[4] [5]}, and who died September 13, 1862
2. Sarah Jane, born 1814^[3], who married Ezra Crosby, son of Jonathan^[6], and then married Mr. Merritt, and who died June 29, 1859
3. Lydia Lovitt, born 1816^[3], who died December 14, 1856, unmarried
4. Mary, who married Jacob Ring, son of Marcus^[3]
5. Zilpha, born 1822, who married Marcus Ring, son of Marcus^{[3] [7] [8]}
6. Letitia, who married Isidore Belliveau, son of Charles, and who died April 30, 1854^{[3] [9]}
7. Catherine, who married Captain Angus P Nickerson, of S. Harwich Massachusetts, they were both lost at sea in October 1856^[3]
8. Rufus N, born 1825, who married Mary Jeffrey daughter of Andrew^{[3] [10] [11] [12]}
9. Prince H, who married Isabel Purdy^{[3] [13]}
