Biography

Birth

Robert Stetson (sometimes spelled Stutson) was born in Scituate, Plymouth Colony, Massachusetts, in 1670. His parents were Joseph Stetson and his second wife, Prudence ^[A][1].

Marriage

Robert married Mary Collamore in Scituate in 1693.^[2][1]

Occupation

He was a currier. He lived near George Moore's Pond in Scituate until 1719, when he purchased the home of his grandfather Cornet Robert Stetson and moved there with his family.^[4]

Residence

Robert later sold the Cornet's old farm to his son William, and removed to Hanover.^[4]

Death

He passed away in 1760, and is buried in the First Parish Cemetery, Norwell, Massachusetts. ^[5]

A. Profile Robert-190 listed his mother as Joseph's first wife, Ruth Hyland. Published sources ^[1] indicate that Ruth Hyland died in or about 1667 and that Prudence was the mother of Robert.
