On January 26th, 1887 he was wed to Miss Helen VanWasshenova, the daughter of Dominic and Angela VanWasshenova. Eight of the nine children born to this couple are living. They are: Mrs. James (Lydia) Bernard of Monroe: Mrs. Charles (Delia) Masserant, Mrs. Edward (Emma) Masserant, Chauncey, Mrs. Harvey (Frances) Reaume, Mrs. Royal (Myrna) Reaume, Henry, and Amos, all of Newport. Mr. Roberts was a sailor in his early manhood for two years after which he devoted his interests to farming, an occupation which he followed until his death in March 1926. Mrs. Roberts is a devoted Catholic, and she and her family ribute generously to the support of the church. Henry and Amos, both of whom are unmarried, live with their mother.
