Researchers who are studying Thomas Roberts (abt. 1600 - aft. 1673) have raised questions about his putative grandfather, the subject of this profile, Thomas Roberts (abt.1520-).

No sources have been cited for the existence of this man, Thomas Roberts (abt.1520-), nor for his relationship to his putative son, John Roberts (abt.1571-abt.1615).

Whereas the son, John Roberts (abt.1571-abt.1615), is at least noted as father of the apprentice Thomas Roberts in a record from the London Fishmongers Guild, there are no records that associate John Roberts (abt.1571-abt.1615) with Thomas Roberts (abt.1520-).

We observe that this profile has numerous personal categories associated with it, so we think that there must exist some interest in keeping this profile attached to John Roberts (abt.1571-abt.1615), but unless sources are added, there is a risk that this profile will be detached from the son.
