Biography

Allison was born in 1797 in Maryland, USA. He was the son of Henry Roberts and Chloe Acton.[1]

Allison was named Executor and received a legacy in the will of his father, Henry Roberts:[2]

I Henry Roberts of Charles County in the State of Maryland do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following: that is to say Imprimus it is my will and desire that all my just debts and funeral charges be paid and then I devise and bequeath as follows:
  • I give and bequeath unto my daughter Milly Ann Farrall (?) one negroe girl named Maria about sixteen years of age, and the sum of twenty (?) five dollars during her life to be paid her annually by my Executor hereinafter named.
  • Item I give and bequeath unto my son Allison one negro boy named William.
  • Item I give and bequeath unto my four single daughters Kitty, Etheldra Jane, Christiana Adaline and Rosella Amanda, and to my granddaughter Elizabeth R. Moore seven negroes, to wit, Andrew, Ann, James, Benjamin, Lee, Cass and Spencer.
  • Item: I give and devise unto my son Allison and to my four single daughters Kitty, Etheldra Jane, Christiana Adaline, Rosella Amanda and to my Granddaughter Elizabeth R. Moore all the lands that I die possessed of and residue of my property whatever it may be to them and their lawful heirs and assigns forever in equal portions share and share alike. It is likewise my will that my property be kept together in common and delivered to my four single Daughters in their due proportion as they may marry or arrive at age by my Executor and
  • lastly, I constitute and appoint my son Allison Executor of this my last will and Testament making all wills by me heretofore made null and void as witness my hand and seal this first day of August in the year of our Lord Eighteen Hundred and Twenty Three. Henry Roberts {seal}

In the 1830 census Allison (age about 33) was living in District 3, Charles, Maryland, United States.[3]

On 19 April 1831 Allison Roberts was named Executor of the will of his brother-in-law, Henry M. Robey, in Charles County, Maryland.[4]

In the 1840 census Allison (age about 43) was living in Charles, Maryland, United States.[6]

Allison died at the age of about 47 on 27 November 1844 and was buried in St. Paul's Piney Church Cemetery in Waldorf, Charles County, Maryland[7]
