Ann Catherine Roberts was the daughter of Joseph and Sarah Roberts. She was born in the Bahamas about 1833. She moved to Key West with her family a year or two after her birth.
Ann married widower Samuel Young in 1854 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Key West: "February 9th 1854 Samuel Young, Jr., and Ann C. Roberts at Home of Mr. Ashley"
