Biography

Much of what is known currently about Abraham comes from baptism of his children after his death at St Martin's Church in St. Martinville, Louisiana.^[1] His children Abel, Abraham, Anne, Benjamin, and Marie Sarah were baptized in September 1800. All records point to his being deceased and from Pennsylvania on the Delaware and the mother being Marie Bell of South Carolina. The paternal (Benjamin Robert & Helene Loed of Philadelphia) and maternal (Richard Bell of England & Marie Moore of North Carolina) grandparents names are provided.

He likely arrived in Natchez, Mississippi in 1771, along with his parents and three siblings.^[2]
