She died on 6 Nov 1957 in California. Her obituary in The San Bernardino County Sun, 8 Nov 1957, page 40:
Mrs. Bertha Agusta Wood, 81, of 3071 Davidson St., died Wednesday at a San Bernardino hospital. A native of Jackson, Mo., she had resided in San Bernardino and California 33 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, William N. of San Bernardino and Theron W. of Cochran; two daughters, Mrs. Eunice Byrd Thompson of Santa Ana and Mrs. Wilma Milton of Manhattan Beach; sister, Mrs. Ella Hobson of Tennessee; a brother, Byrd Roberts of Missouri; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. at Mark B. Shaw Chapel. Interment will be in Montecito Memorial Park.[7]
