John was born in 1789 in Delaware, the son of Elizabeth Durborow (1768-1840) and Martin Roberts (1758-1834) - both are buried at Quinn, Roberts, Borders Cemetery in Cleveland Co., NC. He married in Rutherford Co., North Carolina, March 9, 1813. John and Margaret had eight children. He died in 1873 in Cleveland County, NC and is buried in Sulphur Springs UMC Cemetary, Patterson Springs, NC. [1]
