Obituary:

W. A. Roberts died Friday at his home in Bucyrus. He had been in failing health more than two years. Specialists could offer him little relief. In August he became critically ill while at Monegraw Springs, Mo, and was brought home. He improved some, but although he put up a picky fight he could not overcome the odds.
William Arthur Roberts, son of William and Mary Roberts, was born April 25, 1870, at Chase, Ia., and at the time of his death was 64 years old, 6 months, and 29 days old. He came to Miami County in 1903 and located near Bucyrus. Feb. 3, 1892, he was married to Miss Emma Price at Iowa City, Ia. To them were born three children: a son who died in infancy; Eleanor, wife of Garrett Winkler of Paola and Freda, wife of Ed Scholl of Maritn City, Mo. He is also survived by one brother, C. W. Roberts of Paola; five sisters, Mrs. Sam Lehman, Union, Mont.; Mrs. O. C. Mason and Mrs. J.P. Dodt, Bucyrus; Mrs. Joe Von Stein, North Liberty, Ia.; and Mrs. Grace Kackley, Ness City; also five grandchildren.
For several years Mr. Roberts had been Republican committeeman at Bucyrus, where he had a gasoline service station. Mr. and Mrs. Roberts had moved to Bucyrus 11 years ago.
Art Roberts was a mighty good citizen who earned the respect in which he was held. In the home he was a loving husband and father and in his community he took a constant interest in various projects. A good man and true he was.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Bucyrus Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Patterson, who was assisted by Dr. Mansfield of Kansas City. Burial was in the Bucyrus Cemetery.[3]
