Biography
William Granderson Roberts was born 15 Sept 1820 in Greenfield, Nelson County, Virginia. He was the son of Henry Dawson Roberts and Eliza Brown Landcraft.[1]
He married Mary Virginia Knight 17 Jan 1858, the daughter of William Knight and Susanna Brown Roberts.[2][3]

In 1870 he was living in Forrest Hill township, Monroe County, West Virginia. The family included William G Roberts a farmer age 49, Mary V age 11, Edgar H age 9, and Joseph O age 2. William and Mary were born in Virginia, the children were born in West Virginia.[4] In 1880 the family was living in Union district, Kanawha County, West Virginia and included William G age 52 farmer, Virginia C age 44, and sons William H age 21, Edgar H age 19 and Joseph O age 12.[5]
He died at age 70 and 9 months on 4 Oct 1890 in Rocky Fork, Kanawha, West Virginia.[6][7] He is buried in Roberts Private Cemetery, Rocky Fork, Kanawha County, West Virginia.[8]
