Roberts-40835 and Roberts-20818 appear to represent the same person because: all vital information matches or is close. The differing death dates are estimations. These two are clearly the same man.

William Roberts, son of Catherine (Leete) Roberts, came to East Hartford from Middletown, Connecticut. He lived near the foot of Smith's lane, on the meadow hill, south of the present bridge road, on what was then the main street, and died probably in 1735. His house was built on land which came to him from his wife's father, Captain James Forbes, who gave his daughter six acres on her marriage. He married Dorothy Forbes. Children: 1. Dorothy, baptized in South Church, Hartford, 1687. 2. Deborah, in First Church, April, 1690. 3. William, 1695. 4. Benjamin, 5. Joseph, baptized August
