Biography

Son of Richard Roberts and Emily Matilda Griffin.

Benjamin Edward Roberts married Amanda Melvina Key, daughter of Nicholas and Rebecca Archer Key, about 1866 in the District of Marsh Harbour, Abaco. The couple had children Ernest, Emma Marian, Benjamin Wesley and Bernard Robinson Roberts.

Benjamin Edward Roberts, widower of Marsh Harbour, married Lilian Edith Bethel, daughter of Winer Bethell and Julia Saunders Bethell, at the home of Winer Bethel, Green Turtle Cay, 4 August 1900.

Benjamin Edward Roberts, merchant, died of dropsy at Marsh Harbour, Abaco, Bahamas 26 August 1918.

Benjamin mentioned wife Lillian, and children Emma Marian, Benjamin Wesley, and Bernard Robinson Roberts in the will he wrote in 1907. A long inventory was executed in 1920.
