Abraham was born in 1806. He passed away in 1882. [1]
He was mentioned in the 1846 will of his father, Daniel Roberts: "To my son Abraham Roberts five dollars and no more." [2]
Abraham married first to Cynthia Bishop Jeffrey on 3 September 1828 in Tuscaloosa County, AL. Their children: James H., Sarah Ann, Perlina M., Martha Jane, William Lloyd, Daniel, Mary C. and Matthew Caldwell Roberts. [3]
Abraham and Cynthia were married by the Rev. Thomas Baines, the ancestor of President Lyndon Baines Johnson.
He settled in Texas about 1838 in Gonzales County. He owned 18 town lots and was a shareholder in the city that later became Seguin. A home there, built around his log cabin, has received a Texas Historical Medallion.
By 1846, Abraham and Cynthia had bought 300 acres on Tinney's Creek in Caldwell County. He wa a signer of the petition forming Caldwell County in 1847.
They are both listed on the 1850 Caldwell County census although Cynthia's tombstone says that she died in 1849.[4]
He married second to Lucinda Powers in Caldwell County, TX.
He married third to Delores Beason on 30 April 1867 in Caldwell County, TX. [5]
