[southern colonist files - many court records lost/burned will abstract not located] John spelled Roberson in his will at Albemarle, [of King & Queen] married Ann Holliday, daughter of William, whose will was probated 1744. In his will John Roberson leaves his personal property to his sister Elizabeth and names his brother Benjamin executor. Presumably His wife Ann died shortly after marriage, as there appears to have been not more than two or three children. One was Elizabeth, who did not marry. John Roberson divided his real property for nominal considerations among the sons of Joseph Collins
Note the Similarities Between name discrepancy as it relates to wife of Joseph Collins married Susannah Roberson (vs aka LEWIS). Benjamin Robinson, brother of John, married Susannah Brock, daughter of Joseph Brock, son of Henry Brock, by 1785. Joseph Brock’s wife was Susannah Branhan, daughter of Daniel and wife Elizabeth (will Spotsylvania, June 1, 17935)

About 1701 John Robinson (son of Christopher Robinson}, married Catherine Beverley, daughter of Major Robert Beverley of Middlesex County. They had seven children, including John (1704-1766), speaker of the House of Burgesses and treasurer of the colony. In the summer of 1726 Catherine Robinson died and shortly thereafter her husband seems to have left Middlesex. A marriage settlement with his second wife in 1731 places Robinson at the time in Spotsylvania County. His new wife was Lady Mary Bathurst of Essex County, daughter of Lancelot Bathurst of New Kent County and widow of both Francis Meriwether and Reuben Welch.
