Biography
William was a son of David C. and Elizabeth Jane Court Robertson. He married Lucy Mary Gibson on August 20, 1896 in Ray Township, Michigan. They lived on a farm near Romeo, Michigan. They had two sons, Russell Alonzo (b. 1/13/1904) and Floyd William (b. 4/22/1910).[1]

William Robertson was my great-uncle Will. Our family spent many a weekend visiting Uncle Will and his wonderful wife, Aunt Lucy. Will was a great farmer, and I had the pleasure and privilege of being able to visit a family farm which is not typical of today's farms. Like the children's story books, they had everything: horses, cows (which gave fresh milk), chickens, a frog pond, a big barn, etc., etc. They usually gave us a fresh chicken dinner. Watching my great-uncle kill a chicken with his ax gave me an early introduction to the concept of "running around like a chicken with its head cut off".
