Ebenezer Alexander Robertson was said to be rather strong-willed (most said hardheaded). For example, he made it clear to his family that any grandchildren named for him must be named "Ebenezer Alexander," not just "Ebenezer" or "Alexander." Probably as a consequence, two grandsons born not long after his death (son of Isaac Butler and William Allen) were named Ebenezer Alexander Robertson. In the latter part of the 1800's then, there were no fewer than four and no more than six Ebenezer Alexander Robertson in the Fayette/Shelby area:the son, two grandsons and nephew of Ebenezer.
Ebenezer died at Wakefield Township now Cold Spring Township, Shelby County on February 3, 1878. He is buried in Little Hickory Cemetery
