Biography

Donald was born about 1700 but this date is estimated from the details of his marriage banns posted at the Parish Church at Moneydie, Perthshire. He is stated to have come from the Weem Parish in the north of the county surrounding the village of Aberfeldy.

He married Janet Straiton at Moneydie Parish on 3 Oct 1719.^[1] They had posted banns at the church on 7 Sep prior where he was stated to be working at Pitlandry farm, the farm managed by Janet's father.
