On many sites George's birth date is incorrect as born in 1843. Harriet and James did not marry until 1848, their first born was Thomas B. Robertson who was 1 years of age in the 1850 Dekalb Co., Flat Shoals, GA census. George does not appear in the census until 1860 Fulton County, GA at the age of 5 years old. He was also not in the Civil War but his father James Alexander was in the Georgia 35th INFTY. Co. A. James Alexander died at home after getting sick and sent home to recuperate and death date is July 13, 1864. His military information is on his tombstone where he is buried in the Robertson Cemetery in Dekalb Co., GA along with his wife Harriet sharing the same stone.

Also it is noted that Mary Jane Cruce and George Robertson had 2 daughters who died young. They are no where to be found in the 1880 census anywhere. That would probably provide more information or maybe not. Not known why George lied about his birthdate or Mary Jane either.
