James Waters Robertson, Alamo defender, son of Felix and Lydia (Waters) Robertson, was born in Tennessee on February 18, 1812. [2]
US 1830 Census of Davidson county, Tennessee, USA reflects James was present in Davidson county, Tennessee, USA in 1830 as a single man.[3]
James married Sarah Carson 1832.[4] James came to Texas via Louisiana, with Blaz Despallier's company as a volunteer. James fought in the siege of Bexar October, 1835- Dec., 1835 as marksman. [5] [6][7] [8][1]During the first two months of 1836, James Waters Robertson was stationed in the Alamo garrison. James Waters Robertson was a member of Capt. Blaz P. Despallier's company. The company was with William B. Travis.
James Waters Robertson was killed in the Battle of the Alamo on March 6, 1836. Remains were buried in San Fernando Cathedral.[1][9][10] [11]
