Kate Patterson is named Kate Robinson in the William Fleming Family by Franklin Marion Brand because husband William Patterson put the name 'Robinson' on her headstone when she died. Brand's research leads to the marriage certificate naming Catherine Robertson as the bride. Research in Kentucky leads to Pamela Catherine 'Kate' Robertson.
