The biography for Ronald Robinette is empty. What can you add?
I was born in a very isolated location here in Floyd County, Kentucky. It simply was the Head of Little Mud Creek. Our nearest neighbor was one mile away. There was no electricity, but fortunately we did have natural gas to heat with and also natural gas lights in our house. I was the middle child of five children of Pervis and Yucca Hall Robinette. My first education was a one room school far up Little Mud Creek. Primer through the 8th grade was taught by one teacher. The students learn a lot from listening to the study and work of the upper grades since we were all in a one room. When I was nine years old we moved into Drift, Kentucky and I attended Drift Grade School where I graduated the 8th grade. I then went to McDowell High School and graduated there in 1958. I had left home while in high school and found the going rather tough, but I did try to get some college work in and managed 38 credits.
I married Shelby Jean Hunt and we had one child, Felicia Gail. Felicia married Chad Woody and they have two children, Chad Dalton and Logan Chase who are 14 and 13 years of age.
I worked at about anything I could find for several years and then was able to get a job with a gas company as a clerk. From that job I advanced to engineering tech, to well specialist and then to superintendent. I retired several years ago.
